Practice Standards Scheme (PSS)

In our continued pursuit to ensure clients have the best services available, PHS has been successful in accrediting its practices under the PSS. This is a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary practices in the UK. One of the aims of the scheme is to ensure a positive outcome for the birds under the vet practice care and its clients, rather than just on premises and equipment. Our clients will benefit from the enhanced services that this accreditation offers together with our continued commitment to provide an excellent customer service at a competitive price.   We appreciate client feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve.  Feedback can be left by emailing our Central Office at [email protected]

AgriCure Probiotic is back!

After lots of client interest we’re happy to announce that by popular demand, AgriCure PROBIO is one of our best selling products as an alternative to antibiotics. It differs from other probiotics on the market as our probiotic contains 2 strains of bacteria (enterococcus faecium) and essential oils amongst other ingredients. We have seen the best results when it is administered at one day old or following antibiotic treatment so that the likelihood of a further antibiotic treatment is reduced. This product is also recommended as an intervention on farms where salmonella has been diagnosed in the past as it helps to prevent re-infection by colonising the gut with “good bacteria” , making it more difficult for salmonella to colonise the gut. AgriCure PROBIO is used at strategic times in broilers and turkeys to reduce the risk of enteritis, either as part of a gut health programme or to prevent leg problems caused by pathogenic strains of enterococcus.

Please discuss with your vet how this can be best applied to your particular farm.
