Exciting News: Our North West Team has moved!
PHS North West has outgrown its current facilities at Manor Court Vets in Tarvin, Cheshire. This month we’re delighted to announce that the North West branch moved on the 1st March to a new site in Tarporley. The new building has been fitted out to provide better post-mortem, laboratory and storage facilities, and improved staff facilities. The new location remains easily accessible for both current clients and prospective clients as it is only 6 miles for the current site in Tarvin and hosts a large accessible carpark. The move is really positive for us and gives us a space for expansion within the North West as well as scope to broaden the range of services we offer, which is very important for the progressive industries that we serve. Our phone line and email remain the same 01829 740639 and [email protected]
The new address is: PHS Tarporley, Springhill House, Tarporley Business Centre, Nantwich Road, Tarporley, CW6 9UT

Product of the month: AgriCure Chick Gel
Under normal conditions, chicks lose about 4 grams in weight every 24 hours without feed and water. In hot climates this can be more, especially when the vehicles used have little or no environmental control or the time from hatchery to farm is long. Keeping chicks hydrated, providing them with a rapidly available energy source and early gut protection against zoonotic pathogens (for instance, Salmonella) and gut wall development are of major importance. Getting the birds off to a good start and achieving a good 7 days bodyweight is critical. The major objective in the first few days of life is to get the chicks eating and drinking.
Agricure Chick Gel is a unique formula developed specially for day-old chicks to provide quick hydration, energy, and early gut protection and development. This product is exclusive to PHS and it has now been successfully used in hatcheries and day-old chicks for years. Its formulation was updated 8 months ago to ensure that it was tailored to the ever-changing needs of the modern-day old chick.
Chick Gel is formulated as a dry stable water-soluble powder and it is very easy to prepare.
For more information, please contact your local PHS poultry vet who will be able to explain its benefits in more detail.
